Lawyers Assistance Program Inc has been established as a totally separate entity to the Law Society and its subsidiaries. The only involvement by the Law Society in Lawyers Assistance Program Inc is to fund the Program and to receive general statistics. It is operated by a Committee chaired by former Law Society President Margaret Hole AM of WM Walker Taylor Edwards & Smith. The Committee Members are Charles Xuereb, a CBD Sole Practitioner (Co-Ordinator), John Currie, a partner of Henry Davis York (Vice President), Norman Lyall AM of Ebsworth and Ebsworth and a former Law Society President, Richard Gulley AM, a suburban Sole Practitioner and Dr. Ian Chung (Psychiatrist).
